ABOUT ME
NAME. Elle
PRONOUNS. She/her
TIMEZONE. CST.
PREFERRED CONTACT. Dreamwidth PMs. I'm happy to add you on Plurk or Discord if we've been threading a bit. Communication (aside from the bare minimum) isn't required to thread with me. I enjoy talking to long-term PSL partners, but I won't bother you if you don't want me to! I err on the side of leaving people alone, but if you want to talk, just hit me up.
PLURK. [plurk.com profile] birdlaw. I check it occasionally and sometimes reply to others' plurks, but I very rarely plurk myself. Pinging or PPing me are the best way to make sure I see what you say.
DISCORD. Available on request.

PREFERENCES
STYLE. Prose or brackets, present tense preferred. I default to brackets unless otherwise specified, but I have no preference and will match your style. I write meatier tags when the scene calls for it and adore description and introspection, but I prefer not to bloat tags unnecessarily and match my tag length to what's appropriate, whether that's short or tl;dr. I don't mind jokes in metatext every once in a while (and will make them myself) but I lean toward avoiding too many fourth wall breaks.

SPEED. Anywhere between molasses and boomeranging. I enjoy tagging back quickly and consistently when we're both into the thread, but I match speed when possible. The days get away from me quickly, so I can unintentionally go awhile without responding if we're not tagging at a steady pace.

HANDWAVING/ASSUMED CR. Assumed CR is always welcome for cross-canon threads, but I prefer not to handwave any major relationship developments. Let's handwave and timeskip the boring stuff, but write out anything juicy.

PLOTTING. I prefer to come up with a general idea, then write spontaneously from there. I like playing long-term PSLs with an overarching plot where we both take the reins when necessary and NPC any side characters.

GEN. All for it. I will never tag in assuming shipping unless it's previously discussed or assumed via the premise of the thread. I like wacky hijinks and misadventures, and I prefer to develop meaty relationships regardless of if they're romantic.

SHIPPING. F/F, F/M, and M/M all loved. I'm a shipping gremlin, but I prefer not to write pure shipping fluff without any plot (at least for extended periods of time). I enjoy slow-burn where we can develop their chemistry before jumping into shipping. I also enjoy established relationships (but prefer not to handwave to that point) as long as there's plot behind it, and I'll play break-ups, make-ups, etc. as well.

SMUT. I generally prefer sex scenes that involve relationship development and character exploration, and take place in the context of an overarching plot. I prefer characters to ICly negotiate their likes and dislikes. I'll write it out or FTB. Non-consensual sex, age play/underage, scat/watersports, A/B/O, and pregnancy are things I'm not interested in writing.

GENERAL LIKES
  • Accidental memory sharing.
    • Exposing dark secrets, greatest fears, deepest desires, etc.
    • Helping closed-off characters open up.
    • The emotional fallout of having A see a memory B didn't want them to see.
    • Ideally through some sort of magical or sci-fi situation.
  • Action and (mis)adventure.
    • Fight scenes.
  • Alternate universes.
    • Apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic is a favorite of mine, including zombies. Prefer to keep this within whatever time period the characters are already from.
    • Fantasy AUs for non-fantasy (or urban fantasy) characters.
    • Historical or fantasy of manners AUs.
    • Pirate/sailor/mermaid AUs.
    • Canon AUs: Star Wars AU, Game of Thrones AU, etc. AUing one character into another one's setting.
    • Anastasia AU yeah I'm trash!!
  • Amnesia plots.
    • B bonks their head and, through a series of wacky hijinks, thinks A is their romantic partner. Can be played for cuteness, darkness (say, if a villain is manipulating a heroic character), or both.
    • Both A and B get amnesia, whether through physical means, magical means, existing in a temporary AU, etc. and carry on a different relationship to the one they have now (friends become lovers, sworn enemies become friends, lovers become enemies, etc.). One or both of them gets their memory back and they have to deal with the fallout.
  • Arranged marriage.
  • Bantering.
  • Canon divergence.
    • "What if"s. What if something in canon didn't happen? What if A filled B's role in the story instead?
    • Characters meeting prior to canon.
    • Filling in the missing pieces of canon, providing conversations that should've happened.
  • Cases, missions, quests, heists.
  • Celebrating holidays. Gift-giving, mistletoe, Valentine's Day, etc.
  • Characters being messy and imperfect emotionally.
  • Characters butting heads.
    • Truly negative CR or just pulling each other's pigtails.
  • Cross-canon interaction.
    • Cross-canon ships are some of my favorites!
    • I usually prefer when the characters come from the same genre of story. In PSLs/memes, I generally prefer AUing one of the characters or mashing their worlds together to jamjar style/characters worldhopping.
  • Emotionally constipated and/or deeply traumatized characters learning to love (platonically or romantically).
  • Enemies to lovers, enemies to begrudging allies to friends to lovers.
  • Established relationships.
    • I prefer to play out the build up, too, if it's not an established relationship in canon.
    • Characters dealing with conflict in the relationship or outside of it. Break-ups, make-ups.
  • Fake dating/marriage.
  • First times (dates, kissing, sex, saying 'I love you', etc.)
    • Cuteness, awkwardness, emotionality.
  • Found family.
  • Hurt/comfort.
    • Mutual H/C.
    • I especially love physical H/C. A and B tending to each other's wounds. B is ill and A takes care of them. A's injury ignites feelings in B. Particularly if it shifts their dynamic to something more tender.
    • H/C between enemies.
  • Post-canon.
  • Road trips/traveling together.
    • Probably my favorite trope of all time! I love characters traveling together and getting closer through shared experiences. Prefer traveling for the sake of a shared goal rather than for the fun of it.
    • Characters roughing it on the road, in the wilderness, etc.
  • Seemingly unrequited pining.
    • Also pining that really is unrequited, until it isn't.
  • Sharing a bed.
    • Huddling for warmth.
    • Forced emotional vulnerability due to dreams/nightmares.
  • Slow burn with UST.
    • Slow burn but they're having sex the whole time also an option.
    • Characters being in denial of their feelings.
    • Characters being aware of their feelings, but not acting on it for whatever reason.
  • Soulmates.
  • Stuck together.
    • In a storm, magically bound, handcuffed, on a mission together, etc.
  • The aftermath of a traumatic event.
    • Life-affirming romance!
    • Dealing with the emotional fallout of trauma.
  • "They can fix each other" or "they can make each other worse" (or both, somehow, at the same time?)
    • So toxic but they deserve each other.
    • Two damaged people healing together.
  • A fell first, B fell harder.
